Anyone who knows me, knows I am chocolate mad. Love it, would eat it everyday (maybe I do) if I could. Only problem, as we all know eating chocolate is not the best for the waste line. So after much trial and error I have tested a bunch of recipes to try and get an easy to make, healthy, cheap, homemade chocolate recipe.
Now don't be confused this does not taste like actual chocolate but it's a close alternative that doesn't taste like cardboard. I've even got my partner onto it so it can't be that bad.
So here's the magic:
1 cup of Coconut Oil (melted)
1 shallow cup of Cacao Powder
1 heaped Cup of pitted dates (I normally add a little extra for extra sweetness, so lets say an extra 1/4)
1 Cup of desiccated coconut
Now mix it all together in a blender or food processor until all the dates have been chopped. Then I usually get two lids off a large container, put some baking paper down and spread the mixture across. Set in fridge for a few hours, and once hardened, break into pieces. Then eat!
