Former Gold Logie winner and all round national treasure, Carrie Bickmore, had a few things to say about the gender imbalance in this year’s Gold Logie noms.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, Carrie said, “I could list 10 women who I think deserve to be up there... I am really surprised Lisa Wilkinson isn't up there, I've been a massive fan of hers for a long time.
“I know everyone says it is the public who vote, and I've been very fortunate so I'm not going to sit here with my violins out, but it does genuinely surprise me that there aren't more women.”
We couldn’t agree more!
Either women have been overlooked or there are simply not enough roles being offered in the industry.
The only women to be nominated this year is actress Jessica Marais who’s been killing it in Love Child and The Wrong Girl.
This is the first time in five years that Carrie hasn’t been nominated and she’s pretty darn relieved.
“It's a tiny bit of a relief to be honest ... There are interviews, photos shoots on the day, a lot of stuff that makes it quite exhausting.”
