Hilary Duff has long been one of our most inspiring role models, ever since we all fell in love with her on Lizzie Mcguire.
The star is now 29-years-old (where does time go?!) and is still proving that she is our hero.
Case in point: Hilary’s latest post, taking a major stand against body shamers.
Basically, it is what we ALL needed to hear right now.
After a wonderful day at the beach with her family, Hilary was the centre of tabloid scrutiny, who pulled apart her ‘flaws’ and shamed her for her appearance.
Hilary wasn’t going to stand for this kind of body shaming and unfair treatment that influences the self-esteem of so many men and women around the globe, so took to social media to pitch in her two cents and help us to all opt out of the bulls#@ shaming we see everyday.
"Since websites and magazines love to share 'celeb flaws' - well I have them! My body has given me the greatest gift of my life: Luca, 5 years ago. I'm turning 30 in September and my body is healthy and gets me where I need to go.
She then emphasised to us all, "lets be proud of what we've got and stop wasting precious time in the day wishing we were different, better, and unflawed.
"You guys (you know who you are!) already know how to ruin a good time, and now you are body shamers as well."
We live in an age where advertising and the media constantly bombard us with ideals of how we should all look and act.
They tell us we aren’t good enough the way we are and that our worth is tied to our appearance… but Hilary is NOT for that and is trying to help us all embrace who we are, so that we can lead the happy lives we want to, without being made to conform to unrealistic stereotypes in society.
Love the you that YOU are, folks.
You're all beautiful.
