Nicki Minaj has been forced to delay the release of her new album Queen after failing to secure the rights to a sample on one of her songs.
The rapper took to Twitter yesterday to explain that she was trying to reach the well-known R'n'B singer Tracy Chapman, after she realised that one of the songs on the album, which features a well-known guest, unintentionally sampled her music.
She asked her fans whether she should keep the album and move the date, or lose the album and keep the release date:
Nicki's fans instantly took to Twitter to not only try and figure out who he guest on the song was before then voting on whether the album should be pushed back.
When the poll was finalised with a 50/50 split, the rapper decided to push back the release date from August 10, to August 17.
There's no word on whether Tracy has been able to be contacted since the date has been pushed back, so we'll see how it all goes from here.
