After much speculation, it’s finally been announced that actor Jude Law will take on the iconic role of Albus Wulfrick Percival Brian Dumbledore

Okay Potterheads, buckle up; we need to talk about this.

If you haven’t seen Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them yet, a) what is wrong with you? and b) go watch it now because spoilers are coming…

Okay, so after watching Fantastic Beasts, it was pretty obvious that the story would head in the direction of following a young Grindelwald and Dumbledore (Read our theory HERE!).

So now we have Johnny Depp and Jude Law set to go head to head!

Director David Yates is thrilled to welcome Jude into the role, stating:

“Jude Law is a phenomenally talented actor whose work I have long admired, and I’m looking forward to finally having the opportunity to work with him.

“I know he will brilliantly capture all the unexpected facets of Albus Dumbledore as J.K. Rowling reveals this very different time in his life.”

But here’s the question we’ve all been thinking - how long will Dumbledore’s beard be?

If Tom Riddle was born during the same time as when the first Fantastic Beasts film was set, then 11 years later would be when Dumbledore visits Tom in the orphanage, and looked like this:

Notice his beard and hair length.

What do you think will happen in the next Fantastic Beasts film?

Let's all hope that the plot follows young Dumbledore officiating Jacob and Queenie's wedding.
