It's quite simple really; an eight-year-old taught himself to drive from YouTube, then stole his sleeping parent's van to go on a Macca's run.
According to police in East Palestine, Ohio, the kid had driven almost three kilometres before being caught on Sunday night.
The cops who stopped the young boy were, understandably so, more impressed than angry.
"He didn't hit a single thing on the way there. It was unreal," Patrolman Jacob Koehler said.
According to other witnesses, YouTube must have done its job because, apparently, he followed all the road rules to a tee.
When the actual child rocked up at the Macca's drive-thru, obviously the staff thought they were being filmed as part of some trick... but after an inspection of the backseat with no parents and/or cameras in-sight, they were just left confused.
Jacob Koehler also added that when the child's grandparents rocked up to, you know, take him home for doing something completely illegal, the little one broke down in tears as he didn't realise the extremity of what he had just done.
Also, yes, he still got to eat his burger and chips.
