Sydney, Fill Up NOW To Get Cheap Petrol Before Christmas

Sydneysiders are urged to fill up up now in order to avoid the Christmas petrol price hikes.

According to the NRMA, average prices in Sydney are around the 127.1 cents per litre mark for regular unleaded.

This is a drop in nine cents in the past week.

According to the NRMA App, yesterday the cheapest petrol in Sydney could be found at the Metro station in Bonnyrigg, with a price of 117.9 cents per litre.

“The NRMA is committed to delivering value for money to the community and reducing the cost of motoring and this is especially important when families are getting ready to go on a much-needed holiday,” NRMA spokesperson Peter Khoury said.

“According to the NRMA App the gap between the cheapest and most expensive service stations in Sydney is 31 cents per litre and as prices could rise in the lead-up to Christmas it’s important to do your research and fill up as soon as possible.

“By using the NRMA App and filling up at $1.18 rather than $1.49, the average family could save $18.60 dollars on a tank of petrol for a typical family sedan – that’s why the NRMA is urging people to use their app and get value for money this Christmas."
