Police were called to Sydney’s prestigious Scots College private boys school after a muck-up day rampage went out of control.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Police were called after unruly year 12 students demonstrated dangerous behaviour, including throwing glass bottles at younger peers, overturning an oval grandstand, vandalising nearby cars, and hijacking a golf cart.
“It was horrible. The teachers were scared and some of the students were knocking on doors of the staff-room to get away from it all,” a witness told the newspaper.
“We were told the school went into lockdown. Children who weren’t involved were scared.”
One neighbour, whose son also attends the school, shared her experience.
“I came outside and saw them throwing beer bottles in the street. When one started pissing on the garage I told them to leave and they said ‘f*** off’, then ran away.”
“There was spray-painting everywhere and kids were running down the road screaming and swearing. It was disgusting. Teachers were powerless," another recounted.
Despite the damages, police have stated: “There were no arrests but about 150 youths were given a move-on direction and they complied.”
It is believed up to 50 senior students have been suspended.
