A pocket Pomeranian snatched near a café in Sydney’s inner west has been safely reunited with his owners.

After Gizmo escaped from a home in Wareemba yesterday afternoon around 2:30pm, he was spotted near a café on the corner of Great North Road and Coranto Street.

Two men reportedly took the dog shortly after just before 3pm, prompting Burwood Local Area Command to release CCTV footage to assist with the investigation.

According to police, Gizmo was located at a Bankstown veterinary clinic at 3pm today, and has since been returned to his owners.

Police have thanked the public for their assistance.
