Lyn Dawson's Cousin Opens Up About New Developments In The Police Investigation

Lyn Dawson disappeared without a trace in January 1982, leaving behind two daughters and husband Chris Dawson at their Bayview home in Sydney's Northern Beaches.

Now, some 36 years later, police have started up another search of the property in order to find out what really happened to Lyn.

Chris claims that she left to join a religious cult, however there is suspicion that her remains may in fact still be on the Bayview property, with foul play at hand.

Allyson Jennings, Lyn Dawson's cousin, spoke to the Hit Newsroom about the new developments in the dig and how the family is coping.

"For me personally, I feel nervous and apprehensive," Ms Jennings said.

"We're just hoping and placing our trust in the men and women of the NSW Police Force who are up there at the property doing the forensic investigation."

The case has come back into public focus due to the podcast the Teacher's Pet by the Australian, with journalist Hedley Thomas leading the charge.

"It's just mindblowing the amount of information that he's uncovered. He's had a long time interest in this case dating back a decade or more."
