Qantas has revealed some amazing news for Aussie travellers!
From 2022, we will be able to fly directly to London from Sydney with no stopovers. Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce said they would utilise the new Airbus range for the flights.
“These aircraft, we think, are potentially real goers on these routes,” he said.
“You know from what they have done on other aircraft that Sydney – London and Melbourne – London has real possibility.
The new flights from Qantas will cut three hours off the usual flight time, taking only 20 hours. Qantas would charge a 20% premium, but it would allow them to differentiate their product from the many other airlines offering the "kangaroo" route with stops in Singapore, Dubai and Hong Kong.
From next year, Qantas begins their non-stop flights from Perth to London, using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The flight will last just 17 hours.
This is a game-changer for keen Australian travellers!
