Western Australia played a major part in one of the most historic days in Australian history by voting above the national average in support of same-sex marriage.
This morning, the Australian Bureau Of Statistics announced that 61.6% of Australians voted YES to same-sex marriage with Western Australia having the third highest yes vote in the country.
63.7% of Western Australians voted yes whilst 36.3% voted no.
The electorate of Curtain had 72.2% of residents voting yes, whilst the Perth and Fremantle electorates had over 70% of residents voting for marriage equality.
The no vote was highest in the electorate of O'Connor, accounting for 43.8% of the vote.
