A 14-year-old boy from Sydney has warmed the hearts of his community and now the rest of Australia after he transformed his home into a magnificent light display in memory of his late mother.
The Dowling family from Sydney’s northern beaches always get involved with Christmas lights, but after Jackson’s mother Rebecca passed away from cancer at the beginning of the year, he was determined to make this year’s light display the biggest yet.
“My goal for this year was to make it so that she could see it from heaven,” he told The Today Show.
Jackson explained that he and his family wanted the display to bring awareness towards kids suffering from cancer.
Every night from now, Jackson will be out the front of his house with a donation bucket dressed up as Santa, collecting funds for Redkite, which supports the Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
Jackson’s light display is located at 14 Collins Street, North Narrabeen, if you wish to see it for yourself and make a donation.
