The man was set upon at around 4:30pm on Sunday after the siren sounded at the Hoppers Crossing Sports Club on Hogans Road.
It comes after Point Cook were awarded two consecutive 50-metre penalties at the death of their game against Albion, coming from behind to win the premiership.
Witnesses said the scene went sour very quickly.
"There was all celebrations for the side that [came] from behind," said Tom. "And then the umpire's got chased off the ground."
Aaron said he had to bypass the scuffle to grab his kids .
"Everything was happening, you had people coming on cheering about winning the grand final," he said. "And then you had a few fracas happening on the other side."
Paramedics treated the man in his thirties for upper body injuries, however he wasn't taken to hospital.
Victoria Police have confirmed they're investigating the affray and is urging anyone with video footage to get in touch.
