Drug Overdoses Soar In Melbourne's Outer Suburbs
How is your suburb affected?

Melbourne’s outer suburbs now rival Richmond and St Kilda for drug deaths as the epidemic spreads.
The Herald Sun reports overdose deaths have soared the Monash, Moreland and Moonee Valley areas by up to 400 per cent.
Heroin and methamphetamine overdoses account for most deaths.
“We need some sort of statewide plan around drug overdoses and a broad range of strategies, from prevention right through to innovative intervention, to address this growing trend,” said Turning Point director Professor Dan Lubman.
The Coroners Court report, prepared for a parliamentary inquiry on drug law reform, revealed a 75 per cent increase in overdose deaths due to illegal drugs since 2009.
