A Mackay Police Officer has been stood down in relation to shoplifting allegations. The 50 year old male sergeant has been suspended and given a notice to appear on eight charges. He is due to face Mackay Magistrates Court next month

Police are investigating an attempted burglary in Blacks Beach. A woman reported hearing a cutting noise outside her house around 10 Sunday night when she turned the lights on but nobody was seen.
