The Nebo community is devastated after the top half of the town’s Christmas tree has been stolen. Many locals are asking if the Grinch is alive in the region. Police say the top section of the tree that was taken is approximately 1.5 meters in length with a large star on top and is located on Reynolds street. If anyone has seen the tree or know of its whereabouts please contact the Nebo Police Station 4950 5120. 


With a confirmed case of ZIKA virus in Mackay experts are saying PREVENTION is the key to keeping mosquitos away this wet season. Not only can Zika make its way back to our region from foreign countries- but Dengue and Ross River too. C-Q University's PROFFESSOR ANDREW TAYLOR says there's some scientifically proven methods to keep the pests away.

There's less than 40 days to go until the Whitsundays comes alive with festivities and fun when the World’s Most Wondrous Sailing event arrives- in Mid January. The Whitsundays Clipper Race Carnival runs from the 13th to 29th and will celebrate the arrival of the 2017/ 2018 Clipper Round the World Yacht Race crew- their families and friends. Tourism Whitsundays CEO Craig Turner says it's a real highlight for our region.
