Police have confirmed the BODY found on a porch at an Evans Street, Barmah home is of Melbourne nightclub owner Darren Thornburgh.

The 53-year-old's believed to have shot himself.

The Barmah community's been left shocked - while various celebrities and Melbourne personalities have paid tribute to the man, affectionately known as Razzle.

Councillor Amanda McClaren will spend another year as the Mayor of Strathbogie, after she was unanimously re-elected unopposed.

All attending councillors voted her back into the top job - with Councillor John Mason elected unopposed as Deputy.

Over in Campaspe Shire - Waranga Ward Councillor Adrian Weston has kept his mayoral robes - chosen as the chamber's head honcho for another year.

Vicki Neele was elected as Deputy Mayor - replacing Councillor Leanne Pentreath.

Advocates say it provides a massive opportunity for local farmers to produce locally grown hemp seed in Northern Victoria - due to ideal climate conditions.

Australian Primary Hemp's Georgina Beasley says it's simple to integrate hemp with current farming methods - once people obtain appropriate licenses.

Tatura, Mooroopna and Merrigum's outdoor pools will be open for Summer from this Saturday.

The Great Southern Endurance Run's kicking off at Mount Buller on Friday.

The three day ultramarathon has competitors running 181 kilometres through Victoria's High country from Mt Buller to Bright.

The journey includes an ascent of over 10 thousand metres, and 11 thousand metres of descent.
