Gold Coast and Tweed parents are being urged to keep an eye out for the signs of whooping cough in their kids.
The Gold Coast Public Health Unit is working with Palm Beach State School after an outbreak infected 15 of its students.
The school is trying to manage the spread of the highly contagious infection with unvaccinated students told to stay home for the rest of the term.
There has also been a further case at a primary school at Pottsville south of the border this week.
All up across the Gold Coast there have been 115 confirmed cases so far this year, which is actually down on the estimate of 150.
