Good news in latest crime report

The Coast's police have been working hard to drive crime down.

The Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research released its latest quarterly crime report this morning, revealing offences on the Central Coast have dropped across a number of areas in the two years to September.

Break and enter at properties other than homes is down 8 %, thefts from retail stores have declined 10 %, while other thefts have decreased 11%.

These are positive signs when compared to NSW as a whole, where retail thefts have risen by 4.7% over the same time frame.

Malicious damage to property's also down around 6 per cent.

All other offences remained stable.
