It’s the Easter long weekend. A common time for Canberrans to flock to the coast for some beach fun and that last bit of sunshine before winter kicks in.
But – we’ve got plenty of reasons to STAY in the capital this long weekend, with lots of excitement right at our doorstep!

There’s stacks of Easter Egg hunts happening in Canberra across the long weekend. Gather your family and friends for some Easter fun and PLENTY of chocolate! Check out our list for where to get your hunt on in Canberra.

There’s not one, but two footy games happening in Canberra this weekend! Watch the Raiders take on the Warriors at GIO Stadium on Saturday the 15th from 5:30pm. Or if AFL is more your thing, cheer on the GWS Giants as they battle it out with Port Adelaide at Manuka Oval on Saturday the 15th from 4:35pm!

VERSAILLES: TREASURES FROM THE PALACE
Don’t miss your last chance to see that National Gallery’s blockbuster exhibition Versailles: Treasures from the Palace. Treasures include royal paintings, intricate tapestries and luxurious gilded furniture all the way from France. The exhibition wraps up on April 17, so be sure to check it out while you can. It’s pretty spectacular!

NATIONAL FOLK FESTIVAL
This year there’s over 200 local, national and international acts including music, dance, spoken word, film, circus and traditional crafts, plus themed bars, kid’s entertainment and food markets. Why not take a masterclass in how to sing, play the Uillean pipes or the banjo? There’ll also be dance classes, pop-up choirs, art workshops and poetry slams. The National Folk Festival is on at Exhibition Park in Mitchell, April 13-17.
