Brace yourselves Brisbane, the weather is warming up and that means big thunderstorms are well and truly on their way.
You know how it goes, during the day it's extremely hot, humid and sticky, but at around 4pm, the temperature suddenly drops and soon, you're racing a massive thunderstorm home from work.
Well, it looks like we'll be doing just that later today, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
The website has just issued a severe weather warning for Southeast Queensland as damaging winds, heavy rainfall and large hailstones are predicted to hit.
The warning is for those on the Southeast Queensland Coast and stretches all the way up through the Sunshine Coast, ending in the Wide Bay Region.
Residents are being advised to move cars undercover or away from trees, secure loose outdoor items, to avoid flood waters, not use a mobile phone during the storm and stay away from fallen powerlines.
See you on the other side, Brisbanites!
