Before the bill to grant same-sex couples the right to marry was officially past, Lord Mayor of Adelaide Martin Haese promised to waive the hire fees for all wedding ceremonies if marriage equality was legalised.
And would you look at that, IT JUST WAS!
From January 1 - June 30, site fees in park lands and squares will be waived for all wedding ceremonies!
“The @CityofAdelaide is proud to offer free weddings in our beautiful Park Lands.
To celebrate marriage equality, Council will waive site fees for all wedding ceremonies in our Park Lands and Squares from 1 January until 30 June next year, should marriage equality become law."
Mayor Hease continued in his Tweet replies, “The fee waiver will be for all couples getting married in the Park Lands, regardless of their gender.”
Just take a moment to think of all the marriage proposals happening right now!
